Variety description

The Courtared variety (trade name «Lucifer») is a shrub with erect, sometimes drooping shoots 1.5 to 2.5 meters high. The leaves are large, oval-shaped with a pointed tip, having a purple-red hue in spring and dark green in summer.

Large bell-shaped or funnel-shaped purple-red flowers are gathered in inflorescences of 3–5 pieces. The main flowering occurs in May–June, with possible repeat flowering in August–September. The plant belongs to hardiness zone 5a, prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations with fertile, drained soil.
