The shrub has upright shoots with possible drooping of lateral branches, reaching a height of 1.2 to 3 meters depending on growing conditions. The elliptical leaves retain their green color with a yellow or cream-yellow margin throughout the entire season.
Flowering occurs in May-June with funnel-shaped flowers; a second wave is possible at the end of summer. The plant possesses winter hardiness down to -20…-25 °C, prefers fertile, moist, drained soils and is light-loving, though it tolerates light partial shade.
