The plant reaches a height of about 100 cm. The spathe is colored black, transitioning to dark purple at the edges. The leaves are dark green, elongated, and often have small silvery speckles.

The variety is thermophilic and does not overwinter in open ground in regions with frosty winters; therefore, it requires digging up and storage in a protected place for the winter. The plant prefers bright diffused lighting, fertile drained soil, and regular watering, while being sensitive to excessive waterlogging.
