The plant forms a bush 30–45 cm tall and about 30 cm wide. The leaves are glossy, dark green, and usually decorated with light speckles. The flowers have a deep pink shade.

The variety is susceptible to bacterial soft rot, especially with waterlogged soil and high temperatures. The plant is not frost-hardy and requires a dormancy period with tuber lifting in regions with cold climates.

Tubers of this variety were used in biotechnological research for the induction of embryogenic callus and subsequent in vitro plant regeneration.
