The inflorescence of the variety has a deep dark purple color, corresponding to brown-purple and black shades on the R.H.S. color chart. The spathe often possesses a characteristic crumpled shape, while the spadix is colored bright yellow.

The plant is grown primarily for commercial purposes as a cut flower crop. The stem length of marketable products ranges from 40 to 70 cm depending on the quality category.
