The hybrid was created by crossingearly-maturing lines derived from the local French Lacaune population with American Wisconsin inbred lines. The variety is characterized by increased cold tolerance compared to foreign analogues existing at that time.
The plant belongs to the early-maturing group, which allowed for the expansion of the maize cultivation area into the central and northern regions of France. Grain yield reached its maximum at a planting density of 8 to 10 plants per square meter, and the silage of this variety was noted for good digestibility and fermentation indicators.
