The line was obtained by self-pollination of plants from the Pioneer 3978 hybrid population using balanced mass and pedigree selection methods. The plant is characterized by a medium-dark green leaf color and exceeds the A654Ht line in height.
The kernels have a lemon-yellow color with a lighter top and a pearlescent sheen; the cob cob is pink. The line is mid-season with a flowering period of about 72 days and is distinguished by a high intensity of pollen production, maintaining this ability for 7–10 days.
