The line was obtained by self-pollination as a result of crossing inbred lines LH59 and LH123Ht. It represents genetic material intended for breeding programs, not for commercial sowing.
During the selection of the line, yield, stem and root system strength, pollen shedding ability, as well as resistance to diseases and pests were taken into account. An important characteristic is the ability of the plants to maintain green leaf color until the end of the growing season.
In scientific work, the line often acts as a tester for evaluating the combining ability of other samples. Specific morphological indicators and maturity group depend on which other line LH185 is crossed with when creating the final hybrid.
