The Lo976 line was developed at the Bergamo maize station and originates from a Lancaster Sure Crop type synthetic population. It is an internal breeding unit intended for scientific research and not for commercial production.
In scientific publications, the line is used primarily as an object of molecular genetic research, including DNA analysis and clustering by genetic similarity. Agronomic descriptions, such as plant height or disease resistance, are absent.
