The Lo999 line was developed by the Bergamo maize research station for the study of genetic diversity, genome mapping, and use in hybridization programs for the evaluation of combining ability.
This specimen is used in highly specialized scientific work as an object for analyzing genetic similarity using molecular markers. Information regarding morphological or agronomic traits characteristic of commercial varieties does not exist for this line.
