Pot culture — Argyranthemum frutescens

To create a compact form in pot culture, pinching of shoots 1–2 weeks after transplanting is mandatory, and growth regulators are used to inhibit stretching under low-light conditions. Exceptions are genetically compact series that do not require such treatment. Argyranthemum is often trained as a standard tree, selecting cultivars according to the container size to ensure ornamental value throughout the season.

The plant has high substrate requirements, which must be light and well-drained, as waterlogging leads to diseases. To maintain ultra-profuse flowering, constant fertigation with a high iron content is necessary. Flowering depends directly on photoperiod and light intensity, and high air humidity and foliage wetting require the organization of effective ventilation in protected ground.
