A fungal disease of Coreopsis caused by ectoparasites of the order Erysiphales, such as Erysiphe arcuata and species of the genera Podosphaera, Golovinomyces, and Sphaerotheca.

The pathogens manifest as a white or grayish-white mycelial growth on both sides of the leaves, stems, and flower buds of the plant. Unlike downy mildew, which causes necrotic spots, this disease is characterized specifically by superficial growth, leading to curling, yellowing, chlorosis, stunted growth, and premature leaf drop.
Literature confirms the role of Erysiphe arcuata in infecting Coreopsis lanceolata, and cases of infection by anamorph stages of Podosphaera fungi have also been documented. Specific races of the pathogen, as well as concrete genetic markers or nomenclature of resistance genes for this crop, have not currently been described.
