Glycine max (L.) Merr.
Irrigation is critical for soybeans during generative growth stages, increasing yields from 1.0–1.5 to 2.7–5.7 t/ha. The optimal soil moisture level in the root zone is 70–80% of Field Capacity (FC).

The most sensitive periods to moisture deficit are the flowering, pod formation, and seed filling stages, during which crops consume up to two-thirds of the total water volume required for the growing season. Lack of moisture during these times can reduce yields by more than 50%. Excessive moisture from emergence to flowering promotes overgrowth of vegetative mass, reducing plant resistance to lodging.
Soybeans have high requirements for irrigation quality, necessitating uniform moisture distribution and fine-droplet sprinkling with an intensity of up to 5–7 mm/hour. Total seasonal water consumption varies from 3000 to 6000 m³/ha. Maintaining the water regime is necessary not only for the plant itself but also to ensure the functioning of symbiosis with root nodule bacteria that fix atmospheric nitrogen.
