Heuchera Irrigation

Heuchera L.

Heuchera irrigation requires strict adherence to water balance with essential protection of the root system from waterlogging. Watering is performed exclusively at the base, as moisture on the leaves causes burns and promotes fungal diseases.

In the reference 27 varieties crop Coral Flower, where this is mentioned in the description.

Heuchera is sensitive to water stagnation, which leads to root rot, so the plant requires high-quality drainage. Under normal conditions, irrigation is performed moderately as the top layer of soil dries out. During periods of extreme heat or when planted in open areas, the irrigation frequency is increased to daily to maintain turgor and foliage vibrancy.

Overhead irrigation is not recommended for this crop. To conserve moisture in the root zone, mulching with bark, compost, or pine needles is used, which is especially important for young plants in the first season after planting. Moisture control during this period is a determining factor for root system development.
