Genotypes with yield losses of less than 20% are considered highly tolerant, those with 20% to 40% are moderately tolerant, and those exceeding 40% are classified as sensitive.

Physiological markers such as membrane stability index, relative leaf water content, proline levels, and the activity of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase) are used for quantitative assessment. Morphometric indicators, including changes in plant height, bulb diameter, and biomass accumulation, are also utilized.

Tolerance directly affects yield stability in regions with risky climates and determines produce storability. Drought stress during the growing season often triggers premature maturation and incomplete neck curing, which negatively impacts bulb quality during storage.
