The main indicators include root and shoot length, dry biomass, seedling vigor index, and physiological markers, including chlorophyll content and enzyme activity, such as catalase.
High tolerance of perennial ryegrass cultivars is characterized by a minimal decrease in quality, cover, or biomass relative to a standard under a specific stress impact. This trait directly affects sward longevity, the need for overseeding, aesthetic properties, and the functional purpose of the stands.
