Tomato marketability represents the proportion of fruits meeting size, appearance, and integrity standards, expressed as a percentage of the total crop weight.

The remaining portion constitutes the marketable yield, which serves as a key indicator of a variety's performance.

Marketability values of 90–95% or higher indicate high uniformity of the cultivar and resistance to adverse factors. Values at the 70–80% level or lower indicate fruit heterogeneity or susceptibility to disorders, such as blossom-end rot, which reduces production profitability.
