Average productivity indicators for oilseed flax in Russia are 8–10 c/ha, with target values of 20–25 c/ha for modern high-yielding varieties. Under optimal conditions, flax straw yields can reach 5–6 t/ha or more.

When calculating yield, parameters such as plant stand density, 1000-seed weight, and the number of seeds per boll are taken into account. Modern breeding is focused on developing varieties that ensure stable output at reduced seeding rates in the range of 400–450 viable seeds per square meter.
