Variety traits
Vicia villosa Roth
An indicator of hairy vetch productivity, estimated by green mass, dry matter, or seed weight, which is maximized when cultivated in winter vetch-cereal mixtures.
In the reference 8 varieties crop Hairy vetch, where this is mentioned in the description.
When cultivated as part of winter vetch-cereal mixtures, the green mass yield is 170–300 ц/ha, reaching 30–50 t/ha in individual cases, while dry matter harvest can reach up to 9 t/ha. Seed yield during specialized production in mixtures with cereal components varies within 6–8 ц/ha.
To determine yield, measurements are taken from the beginning of flowering to the formation of the first pods, which ensures a balance between biomass volume and quality. Using the crop in mixed stands allows for increased yield stability and the prevention of lodging; however, productivity is significantly limited by soil type, specifically poor tolerance to heavy clay soils and salinity.
