The variety is a winter form of hairy vetch intended for early green forage production with a high protein content. It was traditionally grown in mixtures with winter rye.
During the testing period from 1954 to 1965, the average green mass yield of the variety in mixed sowings was about 200 c/ha, with figures ranging from 151 to 266 c/ha. The plant is characterized by high winter hardiness and the ability to effectively utilize spring moisture reserves.
