The plant forms weak, trailing stems prone to lodging and creates a dense stand. Flowering with mauve-purple flowers occurs from late spring to early summer. The variety contains a significant proportion of hard seeds, ensuring self-regeneration of crops for several years.
The variety is adapted to a wide range of soils, including sandy ones, but does not tolerate waterlogging and excess aluminum well. It possesses moderate drought tolerance and is susceptible to certain types of pests, such as the red-legged earth mite, pea aphid, and cutworm.
The crop is used for grazing, haymaking, as a green manure, and as a weed suppressant. Due to its high protein value, it is often sown in mixtures with winter cereals and serves as an effective predecessor in crop rotations, breaking cereal disease cycles.
