The ability of sugar beet to maintain productivity and technological quality when exposed to herbicides, assessed through the degree of phytotoxicity and biochemical indicators.

The assessment of sugar beet resistance includes visual monitoring of phytotoxicity symptoms, such as chlorosis, leaf curling, and damage to growth points. Important criteria also include physiological and biochemical indicators, including photosynthesis intensity, enzyme activity, and the rate of pigment accumulation in response to herbicide stress.

Quantitative determination of resistance is carried out by measuring biomass, yield, and root sugar content in comparison with the control. High tolerance allows for the use of split-application schemes and specialized products, such as ALS inhibitors, minimizing the risk of yield reduction and deterioration of the raw material's technological characteristics.
