To determine plant height, measurements are taken during the active flowering phase on a sample of 10–20 specimens, due to the tendency of stems to bend under the weight of the inflorescences. Varieties are divided into low (20–30 cm), suitable for dense plantings and containers, and medium to tall (40–60 cm).
Insufficient lighting and high temperatures trigger internode elongation, which increases plant height and weakens the stems. To maintain a compact habit, regular pinching of shoots is applied, and a cool temperature regime is provided during nighttime hours.
