An important quantitative trait of faba beans that correlates directly with grain and green mass yields. In breeding, plant height is considered in combination with the height of the lowest pod attachment, which determines losses during mechanical harvesting.

The classification includes dwarf forms up to 10 cm, short (10–45 cm), medium (45–90 cm), and tall (over 90 cm). This indicator depends significantly on moisture availability during critical growth stages.
For harvesting efficiency, not only the total height but also the height of the lowest pod attachment is critical, with an optimal value of 22–36 cm. Despite the tendency to form an upright stem, plant height remains a determining factor in realizing the variety's yield potential.
