Industrial rose cultivation in greenhouses is based on the use of specialized rootstocks, low-volume substrate technology, and a year-round supplementary lighting cycle.

For industrial rose cultivation, grafting onto specialized rootstocks is used, such as clones of Rosa canina, Rosa indica, Rosa multiflora, or the hybrid Rosa x “Natal Brier”. The choice of rootstock determines the plant's response to substrate temperature, resistance to pathogens, and the need for a dormancy period, which is artificially eliminated in some varieties.

Cultivation is carried out primarily using a low-volume method on inert substrates such as mineral wool, perlite, or coconut fiber, which allows for the control of soil-borne pathogens, including Verticillium dahliae. The operational cycle of the plantings is 5–6 years and requires specific agrotechnical operations, such as pinching and regulated pruning to manage flowering schedules.

In greenhouse conditions, strict climate control and the use of supplemental lighting are critical. Increased attention is paid to protection against systemic diseases, in particular crown gall (Agrobacterium tumefaciens), which can be spread with planting material.
