The plant has a dense structure with sturdy shoots. The leaf blades are characterized by a wavy margin and tend to change shade from bright purple in spring to darker, almost black tones during the season.

The variety possesses good winter hardiness. Due to its decorative qualities and compact habit, it is used in landscape design as a specimen plant and is also suitable for container cultivation.
