The plant is an evergreen or semi-evergreen rhizomatous perennial. A key characteristic of the variety is its bright green leaves with a creamy-yellow margin. The height of the flower stalks is usually from 20 to 50 cm, most often 30–40 cm.
The inflorescences are umbellate in shape, with star-shaped flowers of a soft blue or lavender-blue shade. The flowering period occurs in the summer months, usually from July to September.
The variety possesses resistance to heat and saline soils, as well as to Verticillium wilt. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 7a–10b; however, the plant requires protection from severe frosts and excessive moisture during the winter period.
