The variety was traditionally grown in the Bela Krajina region. The bulbs have a characteristic oblong shape with a convex base, dry outer scales of yellow-brown color, and fleshy ones of white color. The variety is characterized as mid-late, is distinguished by ease of peeling, and has good keeping quality indices during storage.
The plant is sensitive to excessive application of mineral nitrogen, manure, and other organic fertilizers. Yield is estimated as average. The taste of the onion is described as mild with slight pungency, which makes it suitable for fresh consumption and for frying.
