The De Vaugirard variety is an early-ripening, fast-growing white onion with medium-sized flat-round bulbs and white flesh. It is an heirloom variety of French origin.
The plant possesses high yield and winter hardiness. The variety is suitable for spring and autumn sowing, growing well in sunny locations with drained humus soils. At the same time, the variety has low keeping quality and a short storage life.
Used for fresh consumption, obtaining an early harvest, growing for green tops, as well as pearl onion for pickling and canning.
