The plant forms a dense rosette of dark blue-green leaves with a thick layer of waxy bloom. The variety forms a pseudostem of medium length, measuring 20–25 cm, with a slight thickening at the base.
The variety possesses high winter hardiness, is capable of overwintering in open field at temperatures down to –15 °C, and is also resistant to bolting. The produce is suitable for fresh consumption, drying, freezing, and culinary processing.
The variety is cultivated via seedlings with sowing at the end of February – beginning of March and transplanting into the ground in late April – May. Regular hilling is required to obtain a blanched stem.
