The Haloški variety is a traditional variety of the Haloze region in Slovenia. The plant is characterized by medium-dense foliage with erect or semi-erect leaves of medium or dark green color and medium length. The variety is a winter type and is capable of producing a flower stalk.
Literature notes the susceptibility of local Slovenian varieties to viral and nematode diseases, which necessitates programs for the sanitation of planting material. The variety is used as a vegetable crop in fresh form, as well as for pickling, baking, and stuffing.
