Variety description

The plant has a shrub form with upright stems and a more compact habit compared to the wild type. Narrow linear leaves are dark green with reddish tips in summer, and turn bright red or burgundy in autumn and early winter. Panicles in the shape of a turkey foot with a dark red or burgundy shade appear from August.

The variety belongs to USDA winter hardiness zones 3–9. It is characterized by resistance to drought and lodging, and is not damaged by deer or rabbits. It is used in landscape design for mass plantings and as an accent plant that maintains its ornamental quality during the winter period.
