Perennial warm-season grass forms dense clumps with a height of 1.5 to 1.8 meters. Linear leaves have a dark green hue with reddish inclusions in spring and summer, and turn into saturated red, scarlet, or burgundy tones in autumn.
The plant forms dark red inflorescences of the "Indian grass" type, appearing from August to October. The variety has strong upright stems and is resistant to lodging, drought, soil salinity, and soil compaction. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 3–9.
Prefers well-drained soils, including sandy and clayey soils. Under conditions of excessive fertility or high moisture, the clump may lose its vertical stability. It is used in landscape design to create color accents, in prairie-style plantings, and for erosion control.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
