Plants of this group form a rosette of leaves 35–60 cm tall with thin, often hollow petioles. Harvesting of the first yield of greens is possible 80–90 days after sowing. The leaves are characterized by an intense green color, pronounced aroma, and flavor with citrus notes.
The plants are distinguished by high cold hardiness, withstanding frosts down to -15°C. Unlike other types of celery, they do not require a petiole blanching procedure and are suitable for multiple cuttings of greens during the season. The crop is used as a spice and flavor additive in fresh, dried, or frozen form.
