The variety is of Bulgarian selection and is an object of research programs for studying the crop's gene pool. Within the cluster analysis of varieties, Stanko is grouped with other accessions based on morphological traits, including bush height and width.

The variety possesses high productivity. In scientific works, it is considered in the context of evaluating economic traits, such as the branching index and resistance to diseases, in particular to Fusarium.
