The variety forms thick, fleshy white spears, which develop a pink or purplish-violet hue at the tips. The heads have tightly compressed scales. Mature plants in the fern stage reach a height of 90 to 160 cm.
The produce has a tender texture and a mild flavor. The variety is hardy and frost-resistant. The first harvest is gathered 2–3 years after planting, and the productive lifespan of the plantation ranges from 10 to 20 years, provided it is grown on fertile, well-drained soils.
This variety is not an F1 hybrid, so its seeds retain varietal characteristics. It is traditionally used for blanched asparagus via hilling, but is also suitable for cultivation as green asparagus.
