The variety is intended primarily for the production of white asparagus, which is achieved by the hilling method to protect spears from sunlight, though cultivation as green asparagus is also possible. The spears are distinguished by their thickness and compactness; the spear tip may have a slight pinkish hue.

The plant is used both fresh and in the canning industry. The productive period of a single plant can exceed 10 years, and the start of harvesting typically occurs in the second year after transplanting. The variety is closely associated with the geographical quality indication Espárrago de Navarra.
