Cito variety plants are characterized by short stature, compact bush shape, and low branching of the aerial part (fern). Due to its dense structure, the variety has a specific morphology in comparison to taller and more open North American counterparts.

The spears of the variety are quite thick with a characteristic purple coloration of the tips. The variety is distinguished by rapid development. The compact bush shape contributes to low susceptibility to lodging from wind, but can cause increased humidity in the lower part of the plant, which creates favorable conditions for fungal infections, such as Stemphylium.
