The plant forms dense clumps. The foliage has a characteristic bright yellow-green chartreuse hue, above which rise upright panicles of bright pink or deep pink flowers. Flowering occurs during the summer period.

The variety possesses resistance to deer and rabbit damage and is adapted to growing conditions requiring moist soils. It is used in landscape design to create borders and mass plantings, and it can also be grown in containers and used as a cut flower.
