The variety is a compact perennial herbaceous plant with full green foliage. The inflorescences have a raspberry-pink hue and the classic Astrantia shape, resembling a button, which is reflected in the trade name Cerise Button. The plant reaches a height of 50 cm, and up to 70 cm under certain conditions.

The flowering period lasts from May to August, with the possibility of extension until November. The variety is winter-hardy and is characterized as a robust plant. It prefers sites ranging from full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soils. The plant attracts pollinating insects and is suitable for use in fresh arrangements or as a dried flower.
