The grain of the Lisbeth variety is of the naked type and is characterized by its small size. A feature of the variety is the presence of protective floral glumes, which remain on the grain in a certain percentage of cases. The plants possess characteristic pubescence, expressed by the presence of trichomes.
The variety is intended for food use and has been widely used as an object for laboratory and technological research. In particular, the grain microstructure, its germination processes, and changes in biochemical parameters, including endo-β-glucanase activity during processing, were studied.
