The variety is mid-season or mid-early, with a vegetation period of 55–70 days. The plant forms a spreading leaf rosette up to 35–40 cm high. Leaves are large, fleshy, dark green with a wavy surface. Petioles are wide, succulent, white; no root crop is formed.

The plant is characterized by cold hardiness, tolerates light frosts and short-term drought, and possesses resistance to bolting and a number of diseases. The leaves are consumed like spinach, and the petioles are cooked like asparagus. Due to its ornamental appearance, the variety is used in landscape design for decorating flower beds and borders.
