The 'Alba Junior' variety (registration code 'IFPERAJ') is a herbaceous rhizomatous perennial with upright unbranched stems. The plant forms dense clumps and is characterized by narrow white spicate inflorescences.

Plants of this species reach a height of 100–120 cm and prefer moist, nutrient-rich soils for growth. The variety is used as an ornamental garden crop in flower beds, mixed borders, and for water feature landscaping.
