Luzia is an early-maturing hybrid that reaches technical maturity 65 days after planting. The plant is of the open type, growing up to 30–40 cm in height, and possesses vigorous growth.

The plant's leaves are tender, with fleshy, succulent central veins that have a mild, sweetish taste. The variety possesses cold resistance and good resistance to calcium deficiency.

The plant is used in cooking for preparing soups, salads, and various types of thermal processing, including stewing and steaming.
