The name Calabria or Calabrese denotes a traditional broccoli cultivar group originating from the Italian region of Calabria. This name is used as a marketing description for typical varieties of the crop, rather than as the name of a unique breeding achievement.

Plants of this type are characterized by a large dense head with a diameter of 10–20 cm on a thick stem. The vegetation period is usually from 60 to 90 days, which classifies such plants as early or mid-season.
