The Futoško variety is an autochthonous population formed as a result of centuries of traditional selection in the Vojvodina region, Serbia. The plant adapts well to various climatic conditions and shows resistance to heat and head cracking.
The heads have a round-flattened or slightly flattened shape and reach a weight of 2.5–4 kg. The leaves are bluish-green, glossy, and are distinguished by their elasticity and thin veins. The variety is intended for open field cultivation and requires fertile, moist soils.
Due to the high sugar content and tender texture of the leaves, the variety is considered valuable for fermentation and pickling, ensuring a crisp product of amber-yellow color. It is also suitable for fresh consumption.
