The variety is a local landrace from the Wenigzell region, Austria. Its primary use is for sauerkraut production, as the heads retain their density and crunchiness during processing.
The heads are medium-sized, flat or round-flat in shape, reaching about 35 cm in diameter. The outer leaves are grey-green in color, and the stalk is relatively short. The variety is characterized by some variability in shape and color.
The variety is intended for autumn harvest and is suitable for long-term storage. It is well-suited for cultivation in cool and mountainous regions at altitudes from 500 to 1200 meters above sea level. It requires deep and well-fertilized soils.
