Variety description

10 August 2026

The Kova variety belongs to spring forms of turnip rape and is classified as "double low," which means low levels of erucic acid and glucosinolates in its composition. In comparative trials, the crude fat content in the seeds was recorded at 432–492 g/kg of dry matter, and the crude protein content ranged from 181 to 221 g/kg.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by the presence of anthers that ensure pollen production. The variety has historically been used in Scandinavian oilseed breeding and is frequently found in comparative studies with other turnip rape varieties.
