The root is round-flat in shape with creamy-white skin and a purple or reddish-pink hue on the upper part. The flesh structure is dense. The plant reaches a height of about 30 cm and is characterized by upright foliage and a thin root neck.

The variety belongs to the extra-early category and is traditionally used as a spring crop. It possesses good resistance to bolting and is valued for its delicate, sweetish taste. The variety is an heirloom French cultivar known since the late 19th century.
