The root vegetable has black skin and white flesh, with a surface covered in fine rootlets. The flesh is distinguished by a sweet, tender, starchy taste without pronounced bitterness or a specific earthy aftertaste.
Cultivation requires a long cool autumn or mild winter. Sowing is carried out in August, and the harvest is collected from November to January. The variety responds well to high humidity and fogs during the growing period. Spring sowing is generally ineffective.
